With a multicultural team at its core, the company is advancing a more intentional and sustainable approach to equity, employee development, and inclusive engagement.
Challenge
With more than 5,000 employees worldwide, Exertis recognized that building an inclusive workplace across regions, teams, and cultures required more than good intentions. They needed a clear, global strategy that reflected their values and addressed both structural equity and lived experience.
But first, they needed insight: Where were they now? Where were the gaps? And how could they move forward in a way that was both data-driven and people-centered?
“At CultureAlly, we believe that sustainable inclusion, both globally and locally, starts with understanding.
Exertis focused on uncovering the stories their data was telling: stories of strength, opportunity, and the power of intentional change.”
— Ashley Kelly, CEO of CultureAlly
Action
Exertis partnered with CultureAlly to lead a two-phase inclusivity initiative designed to move beyond numbers and focus instead on the stories, patterns, and lived experiences that shape workplace culture.
This process included:
A global employee inclusivity survey covering marginalized identities
Additional survey modules on belonging, inclusion, and psychological safety
Benchmarking and analysis of workforce representation against global diversity data
Tailored recommendations for inclusive policy, training, and strategic next steps
From day one, Exertis leaders were provided with more than a snapshot. They uncovered a story that could guide thoughtful, data-informed action across their organization.
CultureAlly worked closely with Exertis to develop a two phase approach.
Phase 1: Build Awareness
CultureAlly supported Exertis with campaigns dedicated to global campaigns focused on Gender, LGBTQ+, Ethnicity, and Different Abilities. Through targeted storytelling and team-wide training, both employees and leaders explored what inclusion looks like in practice, across identities and regions.
Phase 2: Drive Strategy
Culminating in a comprehensive Inclusivity Report, CultureAlly captured employee experiences and organizational data to highlight strengths, surface gaps, and chart a path forward. This report marked a key milestone in Exertis’ commitment to building a workplace where opportunity is for everyone.
Results
CultureAlly’s inclusivity report didn’t sit on a desktop, it became a foundation for immediate change. Exertis began applying its insights to core business functions, from talent development and training to global engagement strategies.
The partnership expanded, with CultureAlly providing Exertis guidance on inclusive policy development and strategic planning, helping to embed long-term change across its global teams.
