16 months of self-paced learning across Hawkesbury General Hospital
Making workplace learning work across a busy hospital
Hawkesbury General Hospital wanted to expand workplace culture learning across a large, bilingual healthcare organization.
The audience was broad. Nurses, physicians, administrators, HR teams and new hires all needed access to learning, often while working very different schedules and in very different environments.
The hospital also wanted to move beyond occasional training and give people a way to keep learning over time.
That meant finding an approach that could reach people at scale without asking an entire hospital workforce to be available at the same time.
Self-paced learning people could access around their work
Hawkesbury General Hospital introduced CultureAlly’s ConnectED eLearning platform, giving more than 1,000 users access to workplace learning they could complete on their own schedules.
Seven modules were assigned across the organization, reaching clinical and non-clinical teams including nursing, physicians, administration, HR and new hires.
Learners could work through modules at their own pace and earn certificates as they completed them, while administrators could follow participation, completions and learner feedback over time.
For a hospital environment, that flexibility mattered. Learning could stay available without depending on one training date or one shared schedule.
90% adoption across more than 1,000 users
Sixteen months into the partnership, ConnectED had reached 90% user adoption across Hawkesbury General Hospital.
Learners had earned 4,212 certificates, with the average user spending 192 minutes learning through the platform.
Learner feedback averaged 4 out of 5 for overall satisfaction and learning value, with the same average score for interest in accessing more training.
The result was more than platform activity. People were using the learning, coming back to it and carrying parts of it into their day-to-day work.
Why it worked
What Made ConnectED Work at Scale
One platform could reach very different roles
The learning reached nurses, physicians, administrators, HR teams and new hires. Rather than depending on everyone being available for the same session, ConnectED gave people a way to complete their learning on their own time.
Learning stayed available long after launch
Over 16 months, ConnectED became an ongoing learning resource rather than a one-time event. Users could return to the platform as modules were assigned, while the hospital could continue following participation and completions over time.
The hospital could follow participation over time
ConnectED gave administrators a way to track adoption, module completions, certificates and learner feedback as the program continued. That made it easier to see how the learning was being used across the organization, rather than relying on attendance from a single training event.
