Implicit Bias

Live Learning Overview

people talking in an office

Our brains process millions of pieces of information every second, and most of that processing happens on autopilot. These mental shortcuts are what keep us functioning but they also create gaps in our awareness. These gaps can quietly shape who gets hired, who gets heard, and who gets overlooked.

This training doesn't point fingers or assign blame. It starts with a simple truth: we all carry implicit biases, otherwise known as unconscious biases. They're a normal part of how our brains work. What matters is what we do once we notice them. Your team will explore where these biases come from, see how they show up in everyday workplace decisions, and leave with real strategies to interrupt the patterns.

YOUR TEAM WILL BE ABLE TO:

  • Understand how different parts of a person’s identity can shape their experience at work

  • Explore how factors like background, role, life experience, and personal identity can influence access, opportunity, and voice

  • Recognize subtle patterns of bias or exclusion that can show up in everyday interactions

  • Take a closer look at policies, team norms, and decision-making through a broader, people-centered lens

  • Communicate more effectively by focusing on impact and shared understanding

  • Show up as thoughtful colleagues who lead with empathy and take responsibility for their influence
