Intersectionality
Live Learning Overview
Everyone experiences work culture differently. For one employee, a team meeting might feel energizing. For another, it may be a space where their ideas are overlooked. These differences aren’t random: they’re shaped by the layers of identity we carry with us into every interaction.
Intersectionality training is essential to help teams and leaders recognize how overlapping identities interact with systems of privilege and oppression to influence daily experiences, access to opportunities, and a sense of belonging. Through reflective discussions and relatable scenarios, you will learn how identity, bias, and power shape workplace dynamics and how to apply an intersectional lens to create a more inclusive, human-centered work culture.
YOUR TEAM WILL BE ABLE TO:
Understand the core concepts of intersectionality and why it matters at work
Explore how overlapping identities (i.e., race, gender, class, ability, sexuality, age, and more) shape experiences of privilege and marginalization
Recognize intersectional bias and microaggressions in the workplace
Apply an intersectional lens when evaluating policies, practices ,and overall team culture
Strengthen inclusive communication skills by focusing on impact, not intent
Practice allyship that centers empathy and accountability
